In just over two decades the Foundation has accomplished much to preserve Jefferson's glorious past:
  • Achieved designation of  The Steamboat Wharf as a Texas Archaeological Landmark.
  • Maintained, beautified, and lighted Stern Fountain.
  • Acquired space and created Thomas Jefferson Park.
  • Purchased and restored the Confederate Powder Magazine and arranged its listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Obtained a portion of the Robert and Harriet Potter Historical Site to assure its preservation.
  • Commissioned Jacques Bagur, a professional researcher, to write a history of Jefferson's Golden Era (1841-1874).
  • Employed the University of Houston's Center for Historic Architecture to survey Jefferson's Historic Structures.
  • Worked with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to locate and excavate the original sites of early Steamboat Wharves.
  • Arranged field trips from the University of Houston and Texas A & M University to evaluate structures to be included in the Historic American Building Survey.
  • Co-sponsored an investigation, which let to the location and identification of the last autonomous Caddo Indian Village.
  • Founded the annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes®.
  • Took over publication and management of The Jeffersonian, Marion County's official tourism publication.
  • Continues to financially support historic restoration projects of other organizations.
